About Additive Manufacturing
Additive Manufacturing is the building of components by adding material layer by layer. A 3D model is sliced and each slice is turned into a physical layer of the part. The completed part is thereby formed of multiple layers. These layers may be formed by a number of different methods- such as UV curing a liquid polymer, extruding a polymer filament or electron beam or laser melting a powder.
